We learned a textured stitch to divide sections of the different patterns we have been creating.

Using the basic single crochet stitch, a small modification creates a significant result.   Instead of working in the top LOOP of a stitch,  we work through the POST of a stitch.   

Like the Berry Stitch the direction that you are working your project, right side (RS) or wrong side (WS , the “back”) is very IMPORTANT.  The front post single crochet stitch should be done when you are working on the wrong side, so the text shows on the right side.  The right side is the side that the berry stitches are POPPING OUT.

Depending on if you work front to back, or back to front of the post, the texture will display on the front or back of the stitch.**

* If you are ready to do this row and happen to be working on the right side (RS) of your project, you can do the Back Post Single Crochet, to make the ridge show on the same side that you are working.  You work from back to front on the post instead of front to back.  This was a challenge to grasp for most, so my suggestion was to simply do one more row of single crochet , so you can do the fpsc on the WS

Complete the divider pattern.

Bring a small ball of scrap yarn to practice new stitches before working on the work in progress (WIP).

Chain 20 stitches and do 1 row of sc so you have a good foundation to start the new pattern taught in next class.
