Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Sea Shawlers are a prayer shawl ministry in Sandbridge, gifting handmade knit and crocheted items for people that are in need of healing, mind, body and spirit.
We crochet (and knit) for charities and individuals in Virginia Beach, VA.
In 2025 we donated over 200 handmade items!
Project Completed!
With the help of the Virginia Beach community and beyond, we collected a whopping 103 baby blanket and hat sets to donate to community outreach project 172% over our goal!
We already have 2 other organizations to donate the surplus.
We don't just make prayer shawls!
Throughout the year we create various handmade items to sell at the Fall Festival at Sandbridge Community Chapel UMC. All proceeds are donated to a named charity.

Do you love to knit or crochet and want to be a part of giving to the community? Join us! We meet once a month (typically first Thursday afternoon). We’re a laid back group, with complete beginners (we will teach you!) to decades of experience.
Hats for Local Charity
We’ve started teaching crochet in our ministry! Meeting once a month, we are learning new skills and just finished our very first project – making hats to donate!
