Crochet Baby Bonnet
What We Learned
We are finishing our summer series of learning a pattern for a c2c baby blanket and crocheted baby bonnet to donate to our community outreach project.
We started our crochet baby hats following the cluster baby bonnet pattern by Daisy Farm Crafts.
We will finish the hats at the next lesson, along with finishing our sampler shawl.
Bring the following to next lesson:
- Bonnet with completed brim and cluster stitches. We will add the seam and ties at the next lesson.
- Sampler shawl.
Slip Stitch Brim
The bonnet is made in 3 separate sections. The brim, body, and ties.
The slip stitch brim is worked with only 5 stitches back and forth until it is about 12″ long. This is worked vertically (as its only 5 stitches wide).
The arrow shows the direction that the brim “grows”.
Once it is 12″, we will then work the cluster
Cluster Stitch Body
Once the brim is complete, a row of single crochet is worked into the “indented spaces” horizontally. So you are skipping a stitch, and doing a single crochet.
The cluster stitches are then worked into this single crochet row.

Completing the Bonnet
Next class, we will seam the bonnet together and make the ties to complete the project.
