Gift Card Holder

What We Learned

We made a holiday gift card sleeve in class. While tiny, we got to combine stitches we have learned, plus a new technique to make an oval shape that can be used as a “sleeve”. This can be expanded to make numerous usable items like, phone cases, kindle or laptop covers, or a crossbody bag.

The first and second row are not difficult, but different than anything we have done so far. Watching the video to get started will help reinforce the written pattern.

Tension seemed to be the biggest hurdle with this project.  I recommended going down a hook size from what the yarn label suggests. Pay attention to keeping your stitches “snug”.

There are lots of ways to create this. The technique that I taught was based on this video.
