Lesson 3
What We Learned
We learned 2 stitches in this lesson.
Slip Stitch
The slip stitch (abbreviated as “sl st” in patterns) is one of the most basic crochet stitches, but it’s incredibly useful. It can be used as a pattern in a project, but also for “moving” through a project without adding stitches, or connecting two crocheted items. We used it to finish off a sample piece to make a clean border. We will learn how to use it more in another lesson.
Double Crochet
We also learned/reviewed the double crochet stitch. This is one of the most used stitches in crochet patterns.

Practice, Practice Practice!
Use the slip stitch to add a finishing border around your moss stitch square.
Practice Double Crochet stitch until you have it perfected. Make sure you are counting the number of stitches in each row. If your ends are not even, then you are missing or adding stitches. Use the stich markers! :)
